May Long Weekend= Keg time. Bring on the beer and the heat!
The smell of grilled meat on the BBQ. Woman wearing less. And patio's filled with patrons... Oh, and did I mention that the Canucks are Canada's only team left in the NHL playoffs? Indeed it's good to be alive right now. There is one more thing that I feel I should mention. Although Vancouver most notable for it's rainy days, pot and beautiful mountains, it would seem that summer is starting early this year. There is of course one thing that goes well when the Tri-City's start to heat up. BEER! We've just done our first paper add in the Tri-City News ...
Stop wondering about wine. A simple guide to help you save money.
I love wine. I once had a customer complain that there wasn't any classical music playing. That it would show sophistication on my part to make sure that next time he was in to have some playing. He wanted an experiance. No doubt to prove to his followers that he often dragged along with him that he was important. That somehow the drinking of wine made him elite. Better than most. He often scoffed at my customers who made beer. I disliked him. But I did learn something from this obtuse pompus ass. In fact because of him... It helped me to ...
Pint Etiquette
There are some things in this life that I detest more than anything. - Wet Mittens - Wet Socks - And the saying "You're in my bubble". What a horrible phrase. And you bubble people. F*** your bubble. But this isn't about weird sayings, or at least not today. No my friends there is something worse in this life than crazy people and wet garments. I take pride in what I do and knowing everything that goes on with in my world. You will never become as successful as you should be unless you're up to date with the In's and outs of what ...
Beer Pumps
Nothing lasts forever. And in my business that has never rang so true. Equipment failure isn't a common occurrence in our industry but with so many working parts, nozzles, pipes, heaters and coolers and kettles something from time to time is bound to break. I thought I would take the time today to talk about the Beer Pump. The picture to left here is our expired pump. Realistically this is nothing more than a water pump. This pump shown has a stainless steel coating on the inside which prevents the beer particles from sticking to the lining on the inside. This pump shown ...
What the F*** Is A Pilsener?
So a lot of people ask me "what the f*** is a Pilsener?" Typically in Europe, a Pilsener is just a bitter beer, made from the Noble Hops variety such as Sazz, Hallertauer and Tettnanger. It should also have a clear and golden colour to it and the taste should be bitter and have a noticeable aroma. In North America however, a Pilsener is more of just a label that main stream breweries have put on their premium beers. Micro Breweries however tend to adapt the more traditional European ways to create new pilseners made with the Bohemian philosophy. Although there is really ...
